DIRECTV joins the Viiv-olution
DIRECTV is clearly looking to extend their presence and now they've enlisted in the Intel Viiv army to help. No new
products to show just yet, but the vision is forming and it appears to include DIRECTV content pretty much everywhere.
The joint effort appears headed towards DIRECTV on PMPs, notebooks, and more, all courtesy of set-top boxes on the Viiv
platform later in 2006. Also in the works is a PC tuner for satellite television (yo, it's about time!) so we can push
that DIRECTV content on to all of those high-res displays we've
been grabbing for our PCs. More is sure to follow, but for now we'll just dream about satellite content on every video
device we own.

"PC tuner for satellite television"
Fantastic! Except for the DRM that will most likely accompany it. Hackers, start your engines.

What cave have you been living in? Satellite TV tuners have been around for a minute. You need to get someone who is up on the latest gadets to do your reporting.
