iriver's CES tease-fest continues
iriver's favorite pastime is toying with our heartstrings, and while the latest barrage of fragmented, high-resolution images does just that, at least we've been able to wrap our paws around some of what we're seeing. Hit up the gallery below for today's pictorial treasures.

Very cool. What is it?
kadajawi @ Jan 10th 2008 12:22PM
I would say one of the things is a stationary CD/MP3 player with internet connection so you can send emails etc. The interface looks quite Apple'ish, though I wouldn't mind :D
The other thing seems to be a phone, don't know if it's just a cordless one or a mobile phone. Looks cool, though a bit on the large side, and maybe not that practical.

Whoa pic #3 is delicious!! Are these just concepts?
derek_ph @ Jan 10th 2008 12:59PM
No this is not a concept and actually other press has gotten a hands on with it. (G4Tech TV) The second picture of the mp3-like device is a remote for the stereo/screen device and actually flips open for a full keyboard! The stereo is a bluetooth-mp3-cd player that you can remove the 7 inch display from. The screen is actually like a dedicated internet/media device that can just fit into the stereo. What's even cooler is that when you remove the display device, the speakers will slide inward to fill the gap. So the stereo will just look like a nice stereo without the display. This is the ultimate alarm clock :) Im getting it aslong as its less than 500$ (which is probably wont be)

The caption on the middle picture (the MID-looking thing) says that there's a mic under the iriver logo, an internal wi-fi antenna, stereo speakers ("in the back" - I guess that means the sliding speakers), "1.3MEGA" pixel camera, SD card slot, volume up and down, hold button and power (obviously).
The interesting caption for the phone device is "Phone Book Service".
My Korean is a bit rusty, so...

Pretty, but why won't iriver show some actual products? Maybe these are just glossy plastic boxes with no product in line for release in the near future.

Looks to me like a Chumby's more serious and steril (and expensive) older brother.
Not as cute as a Chumby... but information appliances like this are going to be the next big thing.
