What a cute bunch of geeks.
Kip HT @ Jan 12th 2008 9:29AM
Good job guys! It was great reading everything you saw.
Wish I could get there one day
scoobie @ Jan 12th 2008 9:29AM
Awesome coverage guys - very well done and thanks
Andir3.0 @ Jan 12th 2008 9:36AM
Enjoyed reading about the new stuff. Maybe a little less Veronica next time?
Alex Padilla @ Jan 12th 2008 10:37AM
Well, her job was to get videos of various gadgets at the show, and that's what she did. Yes, there were a lot of them, but that adds variety. Personally, I'd rather have a ton of videos so I can pick and choose which ones interest me (and therefore watch).
zabador @ Jan 12th 2008 12:08PM
I agree with Alex, having so many videos was a great service to the engadget community, however the main issue was that a few of the viewers were paying more attention to veronica than what was being featured, which was no fault of hers or the engadget team - good job guys looking forward to next year.
Jeff @ Jan 12th 2008 1:58PM
I liked the videos and I liked Veronica. What's the problem?
Mark @ Jan 12th 2008 5:52PM
More Veronica! She's HOT!
Abe @ Jan 13th 2008 12:00AM
I dunno, he's got a point...that's Team Engadget up there, but all we saw was Veronica. She's a great host, but clearly she was not the only one providing coverage, which doesn't seem obvious from the CES posts.
superted @ Jan 12th 2008 9:44AM
great stuff, well done!
now to macworld!
John @ Jan 12th 2008 9:47AM
Who's the shady person in the top left?
Andrew @ Jan 12th 2008 9:53AM
Carmen Sandiego sans rain jacket?
Ben @ Jan 12th 2008 2:02PM
Ittousai of Engadget Japan, he's not shady, he's just cool. ;)
BigPana @ Jan 12th 2008 2:40PM
@Ben
So which one is you. And which one is Steve?
Ben @ Jan 12th 2008 5:30PM
BigPane,
Steve and I are both on the back row all the way to the right. Steve is all the way on the right and I'm standing just left of him.
BigPana @ Jan 12th 2008 6:24PM
Ah, I though it was. He does look like his avatar. :)
BTW, If you couldn't tell from my avatar, I'm Zodiac.
Tim @ Jan 12th 2008 9:56AM
Man that is a lot of sausage on that team...c'mon guys!
Nick @ Jan 12th 2008 9:56AM
very very nice guys, good job not getting banned like gizmodo
Shan @ Jan 12th 2008 10:07AM
Well after what Gizmodo did with the TV-B-Gone gadget - I am pretty sure next year all the TV, LCDs and plasma screens will have their infrared sensor covered up or disabled! I look forward to seeing photo's of last minute cover up jobs aka lets hideously cover the sensor with too much tape!
P.S. Good to see Engadget isn't as naughty as other tech blogs - I wouldn't want to see Engadget banned too!
P.P.S. Nice subtle hand on the shoulder. No need to know who is with Veronica!!!! ;)
applefreak @ Jan 12th 2008 1:18PM
u beat me to it with the P.P.S.
techk8 @ Jan 12th 2008 10:09AM
Like I said before, thanks for covering CES! Macworld is going to be freakin sweet!
dudeInAmerica @ Jan 12th 2008 10:09AM
Man.. that picture just begging for a caption.
Smart People Play Tuba @ Jan 12th 2008 10:17AM
The Crapgadget coverage was my favorite . . . especially the "e-paper display is actually paper." That's the kind of things CNet et al. don't bother reporting, but I love it! Thanks, Engadget.
Ignatius @ Jan 12th 2008 10:20AM
At least now in five years, all the wonderful HDTVs that are here now will be down to reasonable prices...
Blaktornado @ Jan 12th 2008 10:33AM
It's an army of hip, young, nerdy people wearing jeans! Run for your lives!
Jeebus @ Jan 12th 2008 10:35AM
She's hot!
(you know who I'm talking about)
cheng @ Jan 12th 2008 8:54PM
he's hot!
(you don't know who i'm talking about)
J Luong @ Jan 12th 2008 9:43PM
the one on the top left with the black hat?
PY @ Jan 12th 2008 10:45AM
What happened to gender equality??? Good job anyways.
Ray-- @ Jan 13th 2008 9:40AM
what ever happened to hiring the best person for the job without discrimination? Focus less on penis or no penis, and more on good articles or bad ones...
Boywithhair @ Jan 12th 2008 10:55AM
ok ryan block with his hand around veronica belmont.. i see u 0_0. I personally thought everythning i saw from CES from every blog was useless junk i probably won't get, but thats just me. Nice news reports though. One question, how did the iphone break. Ok two questions, how and when did gizmodo get banned from CES?
Shan @ Jan 12th 2008 11:13AM
The editor of Gizmodo has been banned from CES for a prank he pulled which was using a gadget called the TV-B-Gone to switch off TVs, Plasmas etc. Basically they went around and whilst people were demonstrating or using the screens, they secretly switched them off. We don't know if they got caught before or after the event and when the ban happened.
Here is a video of them doing the naughty:

Boywithhair @ Jan 12th 2008 11:27AM
lmao thats great
JustinM @ Jan 14th 2008 11:51AM
Maybe if you're 10 and forgot to grow a brain when you were a baby. If they weren't caught, someone could have lost their job over something like that happening.
Tim @ Jan 12th 2008 10:56AM
Nice job everyone!
REVBCO @ Jan 12th 2008 11:03AM
A name with each face would be nice.
Great job guys/gals. See you at Macworld.

Add to the list:
Number of stupid, high-school pranks that don't belong in the grown-up world: 0
But you aren't the type to rub salt in wounds of competitors, which is why I read your blog over Gizmodo.
Good job Engadget!
Dustin @ Jan 12th 2008 11:14AM
Excellent coverage, guys. No one does it better! Keep up the incredible work, and here's looking forward to MacWorld!
kramsauer @ Jan 12th 2008 11:15AM
I'd have never imagined a blog could cover a trade show like you guys just did. I won't say I enjoyed it all (seemed like too many posts, honestly), but I have to give you a big thumbs up for the effort. Take a day off.
andras @ Jan 12th 2008 11:29AM
I'm actually amazed that it took so many people to provide the coverage that you provided. I can seen it taking two people, maybe three, but 20?
Jason Golden @ Jan 12th 2008 11:30AM
I come to Engadget for the most comprehensive tech news across any medium - CES reminds me how well you do what you do. A big, sincere thank you to the entire team. Also, enough with the Veronica hyperbole - she's awesome, bring her back any time.
der00 @ Jan 12th 2008 11:37AM
Thanks for making me feel like I was there. I do have one favor to ask, can you take me to the next show in 09. Thanks Great Jorb!
cranmer @ Jan 12th 2008 11:40AM
there´s all kinds of races
STANTHEMAN @ Jan 12th 2008 11:49AM
Absolutely brilliant coverage. For those of us the European side of the pond you make it as if we were actually there in Las Vegas - well done, especially Veronica, a tough job done well, thanks
MikeJulieStL @ Jan 12th 2008 11:54AM
Great coverage, thanks for the in depth looks and occasional eye candy. BTW love how Ryan puts his arm around the Engadget steak lest any uber geeks around here get any ideas.
Peter @ Jan 12th 2008 12:02PM
Thanks for feeding my addiction, my day wouldn't be complete without checking the site a 100 times for updates. You help make me a less productive person. Now go take a nap.
Pentium @ Jan 12th 2008 12:28PM
Nice job guyz...you deserved the Best Tech Blog Of the Year!
see ya next CES!
Carl Lumma @ Jan 12th 2008 12:35PM
I was under the impression Mahalo Daily's Veronica Belmont did it all by herself!
Godskitchen @ Jan 12th 2008 12:45PM
Really great coverage guys, reading engadget has to be the next best thing to being there.
As for the Veronica thing, make sure she comes back next year, its nice to have someone asking questions who has washed in the last 24 hours, its normally some fat dude who tries too hard to pull off the "cool stubble" look and fails.
Also the gizmodo thing.............does it really surprise anyone? I stopped reading that site a long time ago, it became childish and far too many mac fanboys for my liking. They can disappear for all I care.
And on that bomb shell, does anyone else get a Channel 4 News Team from Anchorman vibe from the Engadget News Team, the female even has the same name!
Veronica Belmont: For the entire Engadget news team, I'm Veronica Belmont.
Ryan Block: And I'm Ryan Block. Go fcuk yourself, Las Vegas.
ExcavatE @ Jan 12th 2008 12:47PM
You guys rocked ! This is why I love Engadget !
