Skull Candy is indeed expensive, even with non-mp3-playing headphones, so these have got to be ridiculously priced. However, since trying a pair a while back I must say that the cheesy brand name is very deceptive in making you believe the quality will suck. Best pair of headphones AND earbuds I've ever owned. No Bose, sure, but damn good sounding and damn comfortable.
Hopefully their ever evolving product line will keep them from going belly up anytime soon. I never see anyone buying their products other than myself and roomie.
@Gus There more like streetwear than goth. I often see many of their headphones in a Jamaican flag theme (ala Bob Marley), and are marketed in Dj and street couture magazines.

Skull Candy is crap. Overpriced, like Bose, but as you noted, completely lacking any quality, unlike Bose.

Unfortunately, SC is more of a fashion statement for the angst-filled goth kids than a good quality product.
