IOGEAR's Wireless USB Audio / Video Kit ships soon for $350
Based on the fact that this kit contains connectors for stereo audio, VGA and Wireless USB, we're inclined to believe that this here product is actually a renamed version of the Wireless USB to VGA kit we caught wind of last year. Even if not, however, this will help you stream content at up to 720p over VGA for 30 feet sans wires, and it's fully compatible with Windows XP and Vista. The bad news? The price has increased by around $50 since last mention, with the latest report suggesting a $349.95 sticker and a March ship date.
Update: The Wireless USB Audio / Video Kit allows users to stream both audio and video content. It provides HD streaming at resolutions up to 720p and supports stereo sound, while the Wireless USB to VGA Kit supports only video.

HD video from a VGA connection? Correct me if I'm not understanding this whole setup, but isn't that defeating the purpose? You would think they would run it through a DVI port, considering most graphics cards nowadays come standard with them.
Unless I am looking at this backwards, and you actually plug one end of the unit into your TV, and the other into your computer.
Come to think of it, I'm sure that's how it will be done. My mistake.

I beliave this is a Usb>Vga adapter, eg. giving you an extra wireless (well..) monitor for your pc. And 720p is only a resolution-standard, it has nothing to do with quality or connection.

It's a question of bandwidth. VGA can do 1080p resolution, but it supports up to 18 bit color depth, while DVI supports 24 (single link) or 48 (dual link). The only issue then is color gamut which is one of the least important issues for many people.

is this a perfect setup for a 720p projector?...
Cody @ Jan 9th 2009 7:07PM
If the projector is going to be mounted and you will have different computers plugged in at different times, then yes it's perfect (as long as it works like it says it will)...imho anyways.

They do make cheaper wirless PC/monitor devices, but reviews for those aren't so hot and I believe this one is so pricey because it's USB -> VGA, whereas the cheap ones are usually VGA -> VGA/S-video/Composite/Component (not all have component, the ones that do are 720P).
Just look it up on newegg.
I was looking into this a while ago and dropped it when I got a new laptop w/ HDMI & Blu Ray :)
