What happens in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas -- Engadget departs CES

Well this was one for the record books. Between the full-court press of 3DHD, Sony's announcement of the VAIO P netbook... er, ultraportable, and the nuclear bomb that was the Palm Pre announcement, no one will forget this CES anytime soon. As in previous years, the Engadget team came, saw, and worked nonstop to cover every piece of gear we could get our hands on. After keeping it in the red for days on end, we're all feeling pretty burnt and ready for a long nap, but insanely stoked that we could bring you CES the way it's meant to be experienced: like a screaming neon blur.

We'll be back in full force for CES 2010, but until then, you can gestate on our hard numbers and sad trailer teardown video after the break.

All of us run multiple OS's at home, but at CES and other shows we tend to converge on similar machines by choice -- it makes sharing batteries and stuff a lot easier, plus we can use the same apps and workflows. Sure, CES is a lot of fun, but we're not screwing around here, you know? Standardizing our tools makes us (and the coverage) faster and better, which is our #1 concern.

I use the triple boot MSI wind. Has a dvdr drive, osx running flawlessly, win 7 running even better, and win XP.

But with all due respect, it is easier to run multiple OSs (XP / Vista / Win 7 included) on Macs. Sorry -- but it's true!

No, a few anti-Apple fanboys are still seriously slinging that rubbish around. The vast majority of us never bought into the idea that Engadget was biased because, you know, we actually read your articles.

Please don't avoid more articles on the Pre, worrying that extensive coverage will get you accused of Pre-bias, like what happened with the iPhone; both items were the hottest of their time and they deserve (Pre) and deserved (iPhone) the attention.
